Australian Vanadium today (12 November) unveiled a host of green hydrogen targets including operating mines and transportation vehicles with renewable energy
Other plans in the company’s green hydrogen strategy include using hydrogen in the ore reduction process, introducing hydrogen into a natural gas pipeline and using ammonia hydrogen as a by-product in vanadium processing.
“The use of vanadium green hydrogen may allow Australia to reduce its carbon footprint and take advantage of the economic and environmental benefits of this growing market,” said Australian Vanadium Managing Director Vincent Algar
“The green steel opportunity is one that Western Australia should particularly embrace, with the potential to create multiple jobs and a globally competitive steel industry
“This strategy can assist in obtaining environmental approvals and in attracting financial partners with a focus on environmental and social management and corporate governance, for Australian Vanadium to bring the Australian Vanadium project into production”
