Race overview: Very competitive start to the day. LIGULATE was huge last week with some extraordinary late-night splits. Mallyon has a few seats on him now and from Gate 1 he may be able to sit a little closer. DESTINY’S OWN has been very consistent in Qld and this is a race that is developing well again. 1. 5 kg claim to a good apprentice also helps.

Race summary: The race that CONEXY emerged from wasn’t particularly strong, but it is well bred and keeps the indicators on. He should also improve from race day experience and the debut was still very good. BABY WONG was tested like a bomb before it traveled widely on its debut. Forgive the effort and I would expect a significant improvement when he starts his second career. .

Race overview: GIN ‘N’ BITTERS is a handy horse and is still easy to ride. She had some of the best split times of the day when she started again and although she was held well at the last start the run still had some merit. Earmuffs come off and can get a nice run in transit, and some speed suits her. MARY VALLEY is the X factor, she had 228 days off but she showed great potential in the final prep, starting $ 11 in a G2 race in Sydney.

Race Summary: This will produce a batch of winners. OLYMPIC CLASS had a small setback and may only need the run at the last start of the benchmark race. Good effort there, he should guide this and give a really nice kick. MOB BUSTER was excellent for this route / trip at the last start. No doubt he would be more of a big track with his action, but he seems to be figuring out what it’s about. GOOD SOIZE got a top grade on debut before improving on run two of his career, winning a girl in very good style. She can sit in midfield and be hard to beat with the twist of her foot.

Race overview: KUBRICK was a potential stallion before he got completely lost. Like many others, he came to Qld, found support, and improved greatly. He’ll never get a better chance of winning again. He finds a CL3 record on which he is 6 years old. 5 points above any other runner and comes in very well. BEACHBREAK has a great twist and Byrne really suits her. From the gate she shouldn’t have to go back to the last one and should be very well placed here. TOOMAI is screaming to win a race and she would love a bigger distance. It will start them here, but it will certainly be the latest if they are too hard up front.

Race overview: POPULIST is a consistent guy who can only improve from the two races during this time. 3rd up and 2030m look suitable from the inside. GRAND ZOU has won three times in a row, this is the first time a little different than 2000 m. If he can reproduce what he’s done over the mile, he could be very exciting. PURRFECT DEAL is an exciting mare, but she is anything but easy. She takes a strong ride and I would very much prefer this to be EF. The big plus is that it goes beyond more ground.

Race Summary: Another race with a dozen chances. CATESBY comes from a very good Listed race in which Jonker was hiding but was second in the blanket finish. That’s a great indication of this CL6, it looks well placed and has tactical speed. BALLER was one of the runs of the last start of the day. That was his first run for Waller and he had a flashing light on. A bad doomben goal isn’t ideal, but expect it to get strong again late on. BOOMTOWN LASS is as tough as it comes and the win at the final launch after the entire trip was released was superb. She has a great record here (5: 4: 1: 0) and her only concern is the wide goal and where Du Plessis lands he has gone early a couple of times.

Race overview: THE HARROVIAN has won 12 of its last 14 starts. An incredible record, but I have to admit that I want him to travel and not come back to 1350m in Doomben. I can’t catch RED CHASE, liked him two where he was poor and last start it was $ 6. 50- $ 11 and won very well. This form looks good if the runner-up wins last week. Loves this track / trip and is hard to beat again. SOXAGON got their first two runs back in this preparation but the efforts were fine. Draws better, expects them to be more aggressive and he’s the one who looks over the odds when he’s on 3rd as expected. Can improve space.

Race overview: Almost impossible to end the day. The Newnham trained BLAZING MISS lets candy run short of speed and back on dry ground could be the improver. JADENTOM was a listed winner two races ago and dominated a good field of boys at the last start. SKATE TO PARIS and JAMI LADY were both listed winners of the last prep and both were excellent in those preps. JAMI LADY was too good to be true at the last start.
