World News – AU – College Football Notebook: Former Oklahoma QB Chandler Morris Joins TCU

Former Oklahoma quarterback Chandler Morris announced Thursday that he would be entering the transfer portal and going elsewhere to continue his college career.

Morris saw limited action as a total newbie in 2020 but made some memorable pieces. Most notable is a touchdown run to give the Sooners an early lead in the Big 12 Championship Game.

Priority for transferring an Oklahoma quarterback to another team in the conference was established when Austin Kendall went to West Virginia a few years ago. That has had mixed results so it will be very interesting to watch this game.

The annual matchup of Morris and the Horned Frogs with the Sooners will take place in Norman next season.

Oklahoma State linebacker Calvin Bundage announced he was the youngest cowboy to switch to professional football.

Bundage, who was regularly employed as a pass rush specialist, led the cowboys with seven sacks and six quarterback rushes. The 6-foot-1,220-pound Edmond Santa Fe product had 3. 5 sacks in the last four games of the season.

Bundage joins a growing list of cowboys who have announced their intention to move on to the next level, including Teven Jenkins, Rodarius Williams, Chuba Hubbard, Tylan Wallace, and Dillon Stoner.

With Creed Humphrey and Adrian Ealy both signing up for the NFL Draft in the past few days, and the Sooners missing out on the much touted prospect of Tristan Leigh, the offensive prospects for the next season looked increasingly bleak.

Much of what it will look like has now come together when Marquis Hayes announced that he would be returning to Norman next season.

The message provides much-needed stability to a unit already losing its anchor in Humphrey and another major chunk in Ealy.
