Residents of Perth’s eastern suburbs experience commuter headaches after a passenger train crashed into a car parked on the Maddington railway line Thursday morning.
Police and emergency services respond to the crash, which happened just before 5 a.m. near the junction of Albany Highway and The Crescent.
Fortunately, the train was empty and at the time of the accident there was no one in the car that was parked on the railway line near the level crossing.
Trains on the Armadale Line will be canceled between Cannington and Armadale, and replacement buses will leave at 6am based on the latest recommendations from Transperth. 3pm.
The level crossing is expected to be blocked for an extended period of time and motorists are advised to consider alternative routes or expect longer delays.
