World News – AU – First VR46 MotoGP livery revealed

. .

Ducati confirmed last month that it had received the signatures of 2020 Moto2 World Champion Enea Bastianini and Moto2 runner-up Marini for the Esponsorama squad (formally Avintia).

As part of Marini’s business, close relationships have been forged between the VR46 team. for whom Marini rides in Moto2 ???? and Esponsorama Racing, with the VR46 livery appearing on the Italian bike with Sky support. VR46 Moto2 team principal Pablo Nieto will also play a senior role on the Esponsorama team, while part of Marini’s Moto2 crew will work with him.

On Italy’s version of the talent show X-Factor revealed on Thursday evening, the paintwork for Marini’s MotoGP bike and the team’s Moto2 performance ??? ? that are almost identical to what was ridden in Moto2 and Moto3 in 2020? were revealed.

The Esponsorama roster is unlikely to remain in MotoGP beyond the 2021 season. In the final stages of the current campaign, rumors are surfacing that VR46 could take over the starting grid as early as next year. Team owner Raul Romero put those rumors on hold, but Esponsorama’s association with VR46 hints at MotoGP legend Rossi’s team that really rose in the slots vacated by Esponsorama in 2022.

MotoGP’s current agreement with the independent teams ends with the completion of the 2021 campaign, which makes it much easier for Rossi’s team to move full-time to the premier class, as it wouldn’t have to buy out a team’s slot.

Marini’s promotion to the premier class means that Rossi will be lining up with three of his Academy riders alongside Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia and his Petronas SRT team-mate Franco Morbidelli. With the first steps of VR46 into the premier class, the team’s Moto3 outfit was discontinued for 2021, and Celestino Vietti entered Moto2 alongside Marco Bezzecchi.

Bezzecchi has been offered a contract for Aprilia in MotoGP for 2021 but VR46 did not give the green light to the move and he will remain in the intermediate category roster.
