World News – AU – Glenn Irwin’s BSB title hopes have come to an end after configuration changes backfired in the penultimate race of the season at Brands Hatch

Irwin, sixth in Saturday’s opening race, was never able to enter the top group after making a few configuration changes for his Fireblade machine, which failed to pay off

Australian rider Josh Brookes took a vital victory over VisionTrack Ducati after leading all the way to beat Saturday winner Jason O’Halloran (McAMS Yamaha) by a second

Title contender Christian Iddon made two VisionTrack Ducatis on the Paul Bird team stand as he took third place, more than 10 seconds behind former champion Brookes

With one last race of the 2020 truncated series remaining at the Kent circuit (16:05 BST), Brookes holds a 12 point advantage over O’Halloran, with Iddon in third, 18 points down

Irwin, the man of Carrickfergus, is fourth in the standings but can no longer mathematically win the title after losing 42 points behind with a maximum of 25 points on the board

Andrew Irwin finished a solid fourth place for Honda Racing ahead of Lee Jackson (FS-3 Kawasaki) and Luke Mossey (Rich Energy OMG BMW)
