WATSONVILLE, California. – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Granite (NYSE: GVA) announced that the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in Lake Elsinore, Calif., Has received the State Route 74 Ortega Highway widening project. The contract for 39 million. USD is expected to be added to Granite’s backlog for the fourth quarter of 2020.
To improve the safety of this busy route between the towns of Lake Elsinore and San Juan Capistrano, this project will expand State Route 74 from Lake Elsinore to the Riverside County / Orange County line. Granite’s scope of work includes the construction of widened shoulders and rumble strips in each direction as well as increased canting of the curves for additional safety.
