Victorians are no longer required to wear masks in cafes and restaurants, nightclubs are reopening and outdoor public gatherings can reach up to 100 people at midnight tonight as part of a series of relaxed COVID-19 restrictions that Premier Daniel Andrews announced.

From midnight Sunday, masks will only be needed in public transport, in carpooling or taxis, in some retail stores such as shopping centers, supermarkets, department stores and inner markets.

Prime Minister Andrews said Victorians should always wear masks, although there are fewer settings in which they are mandatory.

« They have to be worn in malls, supermarkets and department stores such as Kmart or Myer, IKEA, Bunnings and JB Hi-Fi, to name a few examples, » he said.

Nightclubs can reopen from midnight Sunday, with a rule of one person per four square meters, the Prime Minister said.

Private home gatherings can now include 30 out of 15 people.

The density limits in restaurants are being shifted to one person per two square meters both indoors and outdoors. QR codes for contact tracking purposes are now mandatory.

The limit on the number of people who can attend funerals and weddings will also be lifted after midnight. Instead, a rule is introduced for one person per two square meters.

« For those who want to dance on their special day. . . The dance floors can seat up to 50 people with a density of one person per four square meters, « said the Prime Minister.

Private employers can from Monday, November 11th. January, move to 50 percent of office staff capacity, while Victorian civil service may return to 25 percent of office capacity on the same day with a scheduled move to 50 percent capacity on Jan.. February.

The new restrictions will apply at least until the end of January, said the Prime Minister.
