After a challenging 2020, many Australians have committed to a « New Year, New You » resolution to improve their overall health and wellbeing for the coming year.
The CSIRO researcher Dr. Gilly Hendrie said the 2020 6PR breakfast wrecked the minds and bodies of Australians.
« Two out of five people we asked thought they gained weight, a lot of people said their diets got worse, » said Dr. Hendrie.
The CSIRO developed the Start Strong Diet Quiz to increase people’s motivation for diet and exercise in 2021.
« It’s a tool designed to help Australians better understand and increase their motivation to get well this year, » she said.
« When you have completed the tool, you will receive feedback on your thinking or your motivation for diet and exercise. This will help you personalize your weight loss plan. ”
Dr. Hendrie says getting well is not an overnight process and that people need to be patient when starting a new weight loss plan.
« It’s going to be a journey, there will be good days and bad, so just keep that motivation going all the time, » she said.
« As long as most of your meals are healthy … you are on the right track. ”
