Kate Langbroek returns to Australian radio after a two-year sabbatical year with her family in Italy.
Langbroek will host the Kiis network’s 3PM Pick Up program in 2021 together with Monty Dimond and Yumi Stynes.
« After our family adventures in Italy, I look forward to returning to great Australia and ARN (Australian Radio Network) – speaking my mother tongue: radio, » said Langbroek.

« I can’t wait to attend the 3 PM pickup. I missed overhearing conversations I can actually understand and hanging out with like-minded friends. So of course I am very happy to work with these two Aperol Spritzes, Monty and Yumi, to have fun and have fun in the afternoons. ”
« I promise I won’t be one of those angry people who comes back from abroad with an accent and a whole new vocabulary, » she said.
Langboek made her radio debut on the community broadcaster Triple R in Melbourne in the late 1990s as co-host of the longstanding Breakfasters program. After a brief stint at Triple M, Langbroek and Dave Hughes directed the launch of Nova in Melbourne and hosted the highly rated breakfast show for 12 years.
In 2015, Langbroek and Hughes launched a national drive show on Kiis before switching to the competing hit network in 2018.
After Langbroek moved to Bologna in 2019, she continued to host her hit program with Hughes from her home studio until Ed Kavalee took over the post earlier this year.
Langbroek is replacing the current 3pm co-host of Pick Up, Bec Judd, who has decided to take a break from the media.
There is speculation that Hughes and Kavalee will take over the breakfast spot on Hit’s Sydney Station 2Day FM in 2021.
« I’m very excited to see Kate back on the network, » said Duncan Campbell, ARN’s chief content officer.
« She is a seasoned broadcaster and will give the show a new perspective after her time in Italy. Kate has a way of engaging with audiences that sets her apart, and we look forward to bringing the chemistry and dynamics to life between Kate, Monty and Yumi on the air. ”
Ciaran Davis, General Manager of ARN, said, “Securing Kate is an absolute coup for ARN. She is a popular Australian personality who understands the importance of working with our clients for positive commercial results. We look forward to welcoming you back to Australia and especially back to ARN. ”
