Keith Urban received streaming love from fans after his heartfelt performance and acclaim at Wednesday’s CMA Awards that left many of them in tears
The star took the stage for a hypothetical performance from Australia and delivered a touching message thanking some very special people who helped us weather the COVID-19 pandemic
Keith sat unofficially in a chair with his guitar in his hand, and Keith addressed the audience in the lead up to his song, God Whispers Your Name
Watch: Keith Urban gave a heartfelt acclaim at the 2020 CMA Awards and his performance stunned fans away
“It’s a song about hope,” he said on the program that was broadcast live from Music City in Nashville and hosted by Reba McEntire and Darius Rucker
« It’s a song about finding the light but above all, it’s really a song about not having to go to it alone and in that spirit, I’d like to dedicate it to all health workers
“All the frontline workers and your families for all the sacrifices you made and still make to all of us, thank you very much.”
Keith – married to Nicole Kidman – then sang an impressive performance of his song and fans browsed on social media to let him know how much they appreciated his honor
Someone wrote on the CMA Awards Facebook page: “Nice song that made me cry a little,” while another commented: “It’s been this year for the musicians, but you’ve dedicated this to the frontline workers. Thank you very much. This song won the hearts of your fans.”

Although Keith did not manage to win any awards at the 54th Country Music Association Awards, he won hearts with his performance
“Sorry you didn’t win any awards, but you are a star in my eyes. Thank you,” another fan admitted, while many praised Keith for his sentimental message.
Keith – who was nominated for three awards per night – was just one of many great performances at the annual country music show
Thomas Rhett featuring Reba McIntyre and Chris Tomlin filled the room with inspiration, and Miranda Lambert’s editing of her song, Settling Down, was amazing
As for the big winners of the night? Eric Church grabbed the Artist of the Year award, The Bones stole the Song of the Year, Marin Morris also took home the Diva of the Year award, and Luke Coombs took home the Singer of the Year award
