The story goes like this: Bud Light announced in the off-season that everyone (of legal age) in Denver would buy a beer if Broncos kicker Brandon McManus broke the NFL record for the longest field goal – a record the Prater currently holds 64 meters.

Prater made 20 of his 27 field goal attempts this season. The seven misses were a career high since his first full season in Denver in 2008, and he also missed three point-on attempts. With his contract expiring in March and his leg turning 37 at training camp, he faces an uncertain future in Detroit. But obviously he still has a lot of leg and will likely get a chance somewhere in the league.
