« If you look at a lot of great moments in Origin, Billy is just in your opinion of it. – Darren Lockyer.

« Every time Billy scored, you knew something was about to happen in Queensland. – Wally Lewis.

« You get the best six-man group and kick into the corner, then they catch the ball in the attempt line and they go to Wendell, 15 meters, then Lote 15 meters. In Origin, you need your wing to be like front rowers. They were huge and powerful. – Andrew Jones.

« This is what you need, big bodies coming out, making you stand on your feet. Also, Lote scores a lot of attempts at the back end of the line. – Jonathan Thurston.

“Mal was just Mal. From its very first inception, it was unstoppable at times. – Paul Voutin.

“I used to coding against him the whole time and it was a huge job. There were games where my only goal was to make money. I was just sent there with the phrase « Okay, make sure you process money. ». – Brad Vettler.

“Like Billy a great athlete, and when he was on his head no one could hold him. He was a great player. – Darren Lockyer

« Without him by our side, I don’t think we would have had that streak like we did. He could find a way to the attempt line and win the match. Just give him the ball and watch him do the rest. – Jonathan Thurston.

« Without a wali, the original was not what it is today. When you look at his performance and how many men of matches he has made, that is why there is only one type. – Andrew Jones.

“When the big drama needed to happen, Thurston was always involved in some way. – Andrew Jones. « I watched him evolve from a special talented soccer player to a captain. In a person people want to follow. – Darren Lockyer

“He wasn’t a man who was so amazing. It was just a working horse. He was not a man seeking a rest or a pat on the back. – Wally Lewis.

« There is much more to the origin case than just footy. Without it, we don’t have it. – Brad Vettler.

“He only played one Origin game but everyone includes him in their team because he is the spiritual leader. It’s the reason Origin started the way it did. I think he will be our leader. – Darren Lockyer.

“I’ve spoken to the crowd before and said that Cameron is the best player I have ever seen. Andrew Jones.

“Since Wali is the goat – the greatest of all time. If Andrew Jones, from New South Wales, says Cameron Smith is the greatest ever, you should believe it.. For Queensland, he was just an absolute magician. – Paul Vouten

“My generation stands for the Queensland theme. He just never gives up, he’s tough and relentless. The opposition was very afraid of him, but he did not fear anyone. – Darren Lockyer.

“He was a great leader in the 95th Series and we wouldn’t have won it without him. – Paul Voutin.

Jordan Thales “Whenever Jordan goes on the field, you will feel a lot of the emotion associated with his performance.. He was willing to do anything possible, legal or not, to ensure Queensland had the best possible chance for success.. – Wally Lewis.

« You talk to the people who played alongside him and say that if that look is in his eye, you know you won’t lose. ». – Jonathan Thurston

« If I could give Bobby a single roll, that means he was playing a broken leg in State of Origin.. I remember yelling at him, « Get off the ground Bobby, go over the blind side, I need you. ». He said I couldn’t and it went on for 10 or 15 minutes. Then I got a message from one of the coaches saying he should get off « he broke his leg. ». – Wally Lewis.

“He was an idol of me. For a chance to play with him you are like a kid in a candy store. – Jonathan Thurston.

“Pietro was a great player. He worked hard and was a tireless performer. He can be described as one of the nicest men you’ll ever meet, unless you’re an opponent. – Wally Lewis.

“Pietro was one of those people who trusted you in the dressing room. You just know you won’t be pushed or bullied. – Darren Lockyer.

“He was the kind of guy at the time who had some skill. He might have been underestimated by the opposition but he was a very intelligent footballer. – Darren Lockyer.

“Fatty has been my right leg for a long time. He was the man I trusted more on the football field than anyone. – Wally Lewis.

“Alf was the winner. When the match was in the balance, he wanted football and he got the score for us. – Darren Lockyer.

« Money changed everything in the Queensland game. He had quite a few good players to work with, but everyone will say that he turned a good player into a great player. – Wally Lewis.

“He has an aura about him because of what he did on the field. The players respected him and listened to him. Score him in this arena, you will not beat him. – Darren Lockyer.
