Mamelodi Sundowns say they will give up talks with Al Ahly about the transfer of midfielder Gaston Sirino and will only listen to the Cairo giants if they do a « better deal » table. ”
The reigning African champion is pushing for the 29-year-old to be signed, who would also like to be reunited with his former Downs trainer Pitso Mosimane.
Sirino has already filed a media transfer request urging the Brazilians to threaten disciplinary action against him for allegedly discrediting the club’s name.
Although it is not clear how much Al Ahly submitted, Sundesh’s general manager Yogesh Singh said that they will only resume discussions if the Egyptians make an offer “that shows respect. ”

After the Brazilians have played five Premier Soccer League games so far this season, Sirino remains to play a single league after injuring himself six weeks ago in a 1-0 defeat in the MTN8 quarter-finals against Bloemfontein Celtic.
The Uruguayan is said to be nearing full fitness a few weeks ago, but his persistent stint on the sidelines, as well as his public desire to leave the Brazilians, has sparked speculation that he might refuse to play in protest at Downs’ unwillingness to to let him go.
Sirino came from Bolivar to Chloorkop in January 2018 and has already played two full seasons in the PSL.
In June 2020, he extended his Sundowns contract for another five years, based on Al Ahly’s already reported interest, which is now said to have been spurred by Mosimane’s arrival in Cairo.
Since his arrival, the Uruguayan has appeared in 100 Sundowns games in all competitions with 24 goals and 29 assists.
