A man was charged with murder following the death of a woman in an alleged domestic incident in Sydney’s west on Monday.
Emergency services were called to a unit on Nelson Street in Fairfield at around noon. 10 p.m. after a report on a neighbor’s welfare.

There they found a woman aged 40 in the kitchen with multiple injuries. The woman died on the scene and was not officially identified.
A 60-year-old man known to the woman was arrested outside the house and taken to the Fairfield Police Station, where he was charged with murder.
Superintendent of Police NSW Fairfield City, Superintendent of Police, Brett McFadden, said the couple lived together and recently arrived in Australia.
He added that the police were working to understand the circumstances that led to the death of the woman and that the police were not aware of the family.
« Unfortunately, there is domestic violence in our community, » he said. « It’s a tragic set of circumstances. «
« We are currently treating this matter as a potential murder investigation, with the 60-year-old man being the person of interest for this investigation. «
An autopsy will be carried out in the coming days to determine the cause of death of the woman.
