JUAN MATA opened the lid on how he helped Edinson Cavani settle at Manchester United.

The Uruguayan joined on the cut-off date after his release by Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

And the popular Spaniard Mata (32) was delighted that the productive Cavani (33) had joined him as one of the senior statesmen from Old Trafford.

He told United Review: « Well, I am very happy that Edinson came here because he has been a very professional player, a very dedicated teammate and very dedicated throughout his career.

« Also, of course, Edinson is very humble and he’s a guy who likes the scenery.

« I think he’s now settled in his house in the country, which he’s pleased about.
