Matthew McConaughey’s The Project interview took a tough turn when Carrie Bickmore asked him a specific question
Carrie Bickmore interviewed Matthew McConaughey on The Project – and the Oscar-winning actor isn’t too keen on answering a specific question
Matthew McConaughey did not hold back details when discussing his new memoir on The Project last night
Co-host Carrie Bickmore asks the 50-year-old actor ‘what he thinks’ of US President Donald Trump ahead of the US election
« What do I think of him? » he said, the face of stone « I want a more complete context and a longer form to talk about it
« If I told you something now, a line could be taken out of context and placed in a title, so I don’t want to risk it, » he added.
« I need a longer forum where I know it’s verbatim (and) everything I say gets broadcast »
Elsewhere in the interview, the Oscar winner was happy to discuss horrific details in his Greenlights memoir, including being assaulted as a teenager and being blackmailed into losing her virginity at age 15 years old
In a televised conversation with the BBC’s Andrew Marr, McConaughey said « the cultural elite should give (Trump) a break »
« They don’t have a choice now. He’s our president And it’s very dynamic and as divisive of an inauguration and time as we’ve ever had, » he said
« At the same time, it is time for us to accept and shake hands with this fact and be constructive with it over the next four years
« Even those who disagree most with his principles or what he said and did Which is something else: we’ll see what he does versus what he said
« No matter how much you have disagreed along the way, it’s time to think about how constructive you can be, because he’s our chairman for the next four years – at least »

It seems he still shares the same view, telling Fox & Friends this week if Trump is re-elected, Americans should « accept the situation »
« After that, whether it’s an incumbent or (Joe) Biden, after that happens, it’s time to get constructive and not be in denial, » McConaughey said. / p>
« It’s time to be constructive and not deny what has happened and come to terms with the situation
« Whoever becomes Commander-in-Chief and President of the United States of America is not something, hopefully, that we are going to deny or be able to argue »
