The Nigerian international has missed the last five games for club and country but is ready to return in a Ligue 1 clash on Saturday
Super Eagles star Moses Simon has returned from hamstring strain that put him out of action for a few weeks, says an avid Nantes manager, Christian Gourcuff.
Moses Simon missed Nantes’ last three games and Nigeria’s last two games, including the surprising 4-4 draw with Sierra Leone after his club lost to French champions Paris Saint-Germain in October Had an injury problem.
Nantes will face another tricky Ligue 1 tie against Marseille on Saturday and coach Gourcuff couldn’t hide his delight that the player of the year was ready to lock Andre Villas-Boas’ men up last season.
« The good news that was expected is the return of Moses Simon who will travel to Marseille, » Gourcuff said at a pre-game press conference.
“No additional issues to report. Charles [Traore] is still not available. We’ll have to see his physical condition in a few days. ”
Simon remains a key member of the Canary Islands despite not reaching the highs of last year which earned him the club’s best player while on loan from Levante.
The fast winger has played eight games, scored one goal and provided an assist this season.
But Nantes continues to struggle to get its league campaign on the right track. Gourcuff’s team is 14th after 13 points from 11 games. Place in the Ligue 1 table.
