The end of the year brought a lot of news to Pokemon GO, especially for the GO Beyond update. Along with important additions like the seasons, new options have also been added, and a few more will be added in 2021. The first of these are the collection challenges, which encourage players to catch lots of creatures.
A few weeks ago, Niantic expected the arrival of the Collection Challenges, which will be some kind of guide to help players catch the featured Pokémon of each event that takes place in the title. Little was known about this new feature, but today Niantic shared the details.
These new challenges appear in the Today section of the Pokémon GO Challenges menu and are a new type of special investigation. The first Unova-inspired Collection Challenge will be launched tomorrow the 5th. January, will be available and challenge players to capture large numbers of creatures from that region, which will be incorporated into Unova’s countdown event, starting tomorrow.
According to official information from Niantic, players are asked to catch a specimen of the 9 species Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Lillypup, Herdier, Blitzle, Roggenrola, Solosis and Ferroseed.
The interesting thing is that there are incentives to motivate you to complete this challenge because those who complete these challenges can claim Stardust, 25 Pokéballs and 5 rare candies. Additionally, Niantic revealed that this Conquest Progress will count towards unlocking the Elite Collector’s Badge.
As you imagine at the end of the event, the specific collection challenge will go away, so you’ll have to complete it before the set date. The Unova event begins on Jan.. January and ends on 10. January. The first collection challenge ends on Sunday the 10th. January.
In case you missed it, Niantic is hosting a global event to celebrate 25 years of Pokémon.
As we told you a few days ago, the North Face x Gucci collection would be present in the Niantic game through fashion items. If you like these brands and would like to learn more about this collaboration, this information is of interest to you.
Niantic announced today that these items for the Avatar can already be found in-game. There are a total of 3 accessories (a hat, a T-shirt and a backpack with a design from this collection) that are available free of charge. Unfortunately, getting these items can be very difficult for some players as they can only be obtained by turning PokéStops at Gucci stores with 100+ stores in just over 70 cities around the world.
The bad news is that in Mexico it only exists in Mexico City and Monterrey. In total there are 4 cities in Latin America and the remaining 2 are São Paulo (Brazil) and Santiago (Chile). On this page you can see a full list of cities with Gucci PokéStops.
What do you think of this new addition? Are you going to try to catch all the species in this challenge? Tell us in the comments.
One of the upcoming events for Pokémon GO is Community Day in January, which the Pokémon superpower will attend.
Pokémon GO is available on mobile devices. You can find more news about this title on our minisite.
