A man was arrested in a stolen car after a long chase through numerous suburbs.
Shortly after 9. On Saturday the 12th. December, at 30 o’clock, a patrol in the northern districts discovered a man driving a stolen silver Lexus on Bolivar Road in Burton. The patrol attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver reportedly refused and it was followed to Port Wakefield Road where PolAir, who was in the area, took over the patrol and began following the vehicle’s movements.
The stolen Lexus was tracked north along the Northern Expressway, then back south along Port Wakefield Road to the Port Expressway to Main South Road and then to Regency Road in Regency Park at around 10 p.m..
At 10 a.m.. At 8 p.m. the stolen car had reached the parade in Norwood, then Cross Road in Unley, and then the western suburbs of Adelaide.
PolAir continued to follow the stolen car onto Holbrooks Road in Underdale, where the stolen car allegedly drove towards a patrol officer who was putting in the curbs that narrowly missed him.
Just before 11 p.m., a police patrol successfully deployed spikes on Hanson Road and Port River Expressway in Wingfield, puncturing several tires .
Shortly thereafter, the suspect pulled the Lexus into a gas station on Salisbury Highway in Mawson Lakes, dumped the car and ran into the gas station, quickly stole a drink, and then jumped on the back of a member of the public car two men and told them ‘They were supposed to leave, but police patrols pushed forward and the wanted man was arrested.
The 31-year-old man with no permanent address was arrested and charged with a variety of criminal offenses, including illegal use, police persecution, endangering life and bail violation.
