Two presenters of the breakfast show were tricked into celebrating the fake wedding anniversary of notorious serial killers Fred and Rosemary West.

A photo of the infamous British killers flashed on screen during TVNZ’s breakfast show on Wednesday morning.

The image was part of the Today’s the Day segment of the New Zealand show, in which the hosts celebrate important celebrations for the audience.

A morning show presenters stayed red in the face after being tricked into celebrating the fake wedding anniversary of infamous serial killers Fred and Rosemary West (pictured during the section on the program).

The section started with presenters Jenny-May Clarkson and Indira Stewart dancing to happy music before introducing the ‘couple’. .

‘This is your kids’ favorite photo, taken on their honeymoon in 1990. ‘

« From your esteemed children Dan, Rachel, and Edwin, they say you are the most caring parents you could ever want and look forward to celebrating with you today, » said Ms. Clarkson.

Renters, babysitters, children and strangers who picked them up from the street were tortured and ill-treated before they were buried in the basement or under the terrace of their home.

One of the victims at the House of Horrors was the couple’s eldest daughter, Heather, who was killed in June 1987 at the age of 16.

A TVNZ spokeswoman has also apologized, stating that the picture was sent to the breakfast team along with a false backstory.
