Friday night races are returning to Moonee Valley tonight with a ticket for eight races after the track hosted races on Saturday last week.
The track is currently a good 4, weather permitting, and 3m along the entire track after being in the right position for last Saturday’s race.
Looks like a tough but competitive program tonight. Hopefully we can find some winners tomorrow before the races on Saturday.
I look forward to seeing this daughter from Sebring again for this preparation. She has shown she is capable and she has a nice race here first to take her first win. She comes into play from two solid jumps and is pulled well by Barrier two. Mighty Feat has drawn into her so that she can follow him into the race and, with a bit of luck, show her beautiful twist and be too good.
This looks like a nice race for her second place. Two weeks ago she was the first at 1200 m behind Corner Pocket in the valley. She made it through the line well and will appreciate the step into the distance to the 1600m. Her form over the mile final preparation was very strong with runs behind Affair To Remember in Sandown and Game Keeper in Adelaide Guineas. She has got a nice runner-up, she is eager to get the perfect run in the race on paper and should be terribly hard to beat.
What an eye-catcher she was last in Sandown and landed a second behind Tralee Rose. While she was backed up with a peach of a ride by Lewis German (who is staying here for the ride), the way she hit the line still can’t be discredited. She is third here, weighs well with the Germans’ two-kilogram claim and will improve when she climbs to 2040 m here. A distance at which it has a fixed form in the past.
Looks like a nice race here for this easy running three year old. He comes from a Sandown Guineas run behind Allibor and Sweet Reply, which last started over 1600 m. After that run he met me as a horse that would improve if he got out of the race, and that’s what he gets here at the 2040m. He will face the older horses in the process, but the race seems like one he can certainly win if he progresses naturally from his last start and increases the journey. It’s worth going for the price.
Predictions that the four year old gelding will improve a lot here. He ran quite far on the track as the first behind Corner Pocket over the 1200 m in the valley. Night Passage was in this race too so we should get a good form leader if he can say hello in race three. We should also know how the track plays before the last one and if they are able to take hold it will stand a great chance in it. Has ridden easily and should take this first race. Damien Oliver stays for the ride, trying to get a nice run in the race from barrier three if this time they decide to be more prominent in the run.
