In the first two seasons of the Titans, Anna Diops Kori didn’t really team up with her Titan colleagues and only went into action in a good way. . . normal but very fabulous additional clothes. But now that Kori’s past is about to catch up with her in a very personal way and her vicious sister Blackfire contacts her in the season two finale, she seems to have decided that now is the time to actually prepare.
The costume designed by Laura Jean Shannon is the first time we’ve seen an official live-action version of Starfire’s comic book look. It’s much more elaborate than the usually fairly minimalist aesthetic she wears in the comics, and borrows from an armored aesthetic that goes with not only the rest of the Titans’ costumes (including the recently revealed Red Hood), but with too The DC heroes of the similarly grainy Injustice games feel at home. But even then it still reads like a classic starfire: the light purple is there, as are the little green accents. The biggest change is swapping gold for a comic more accurate silver. At least it still looks like a solid upgrade.
