THREE Saints players have been selected for the 2020 Betfred Super League Dream Team.

Powerhouse supporter Alex Walmsley, who has made a big impression on the 2020 campaign since resuming, is making his second appearance on the Dream Team. His first was in 2015.

Meanwhile, Jonny Lomax, who narrowly missed Blake Austin and Jackson Hastings last year, is returning to the team in 2020.

It’s a credit to Lomax for having the best assists and consistent high quality performances this season.

Meanwhile, hardworking and shrewd striker Morgan Knowles retains his spot from last year 13th.

This year there is a large spread over the competition with players from eight teams in the 13th.

Wigan Warriors Bevan French, top of the season stats for tackle busts and clean breaks and runner-up on attempts, is joined by Salford Red Devils winger Krisnan Inu and the Warrington Wolves pair from center Toby King who have been at the forefront of offloads for the season finished charting and prop Mike Cooper, who made his first appearance in a stellar 14-year career.

Steve Prescott, MBE Man of Steel panelist Jason Robinson, said, “It is to the credit of the players and the competition that so many different Super League teams are represented in this year’s Dream Team.

“A good barometer is sometimes to look at the strength of the list of players who missed it, and there are some wonderful talents out there that are just outside that top 13.

“I really enjoyed that some of the young players in the game are so well adapted to their first team life and there are others who are a bit older who really made a name for themselves in the Super League – I think Ash Handley and Toby King are good examples of this. ”
