Darren Jolly, who you can recognize both in The Block and on the pitch as an AFL player for the Sydney Swans and Collingwood, took to Instagram to share his version of what seems to be a rather complicated story

Darren split from his wife Deanne (after their fame as The Block winner) in September last year, and was due to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where he faces multiple charges

Apparently taking matters into his own hands, Darren decided to share his grief on social media

The 38-year-old shared a carousel of images depicting himself and his two daughters with a long caption

« I’m done, the unbearable pain of not seeing my beautiful daughters for the past fourteen months is too much to handle I am a victim of extreme parental alienation and no one in the family justice system is ‘cares No one is looking for my girls

« Looking back at these photos, I broke what little heart was left in me, because it showed how much my daughters loved me Today, fourteen months after my separation from my marriage, my girls have so much hate towards me now and have refused or are afraid to feel anything for me I have been sent letters and texts of hate and it slowly built up in me and after holding on for so long, I broke up I can no longer continue «

I’m done, the unbearable pain of not seeing my beautiful daughters for the past fourteen months is too much to handle I am a victim of extreme parental alienation and no one in the family justice system is cares No one is looking for my daughters Looking back through these photos broke what little was left of my heart as it showed how much my daughters loved me Today, fourteen months after my split from my marriage , my daughters hate me so much now and have refused or are afraid to feel anything for me I have been sent hate letters and texts and it slowly built up in me and after holding on so long time I broke I can’t continue The straw that broke me was stopped last Friday because I broke an IVO to place a birthday cake I made on the porch of the house where live girls I tried to show my daughter who I haven’t seen or spoken to that I love her and made the effort to bake her a cake I also received a request the same day that my ex had gone to court and got me to want my daughters included in the IVO so it would be illegal for me to try to contact or approach them if I saw them Forcing the kids to hate me then trying to make it illegal for me to contact them is too much To my parents, my family, my friends, Lucy, I love you For my ex, you decided to destroy me from the moment I left and you made it To my girls I’m sorry My love will always be in your heart Love daddy xx

« The straw that broke me was stopped last Friday because I broke an IVO to place a birthday cake I made on the porch of the house where the girls live I tried to show my daughter who I haven’t seen or spoken to that I love her and I made the effort to bake her a cake

« I also received a request the same day that my ex had gone to court and got details that she wanted my daughters to be included in the IVO, so it would be illegal to me to try to contact them or approach them if I saw them

« Forcing children to hate me then trying to make it illegal for me to contact them is too much To my parents, my family, my friends, Lucy, I love you For my ex, you decided to me destroy from the moment I left and you succeeded «

Darren ended the post with: « To my daughters I’m sorry My love will always be in your heart Love daddy xx »

The post naturally caused huge concern for Jolly, but on Monday night it was confirmed to be safe

The former AFL player previously shared an Instagram post that read « The love of a father is no less than that of a mother »

Since I left my marriage in August 2019, the memory of me in my daughters minds fades My daughters are afraid to feel the love they once had for me They were forced to only feel hate I was sent hate texts, hate letters, I was told « thank goodness you are not a part of these girls’ lives anymore », I was blocked on their phones, i left countless text and voicemail messages and get nothing in return I have so many examples of what is going on What I found out tonight shocked me I found out I had been removed as an emergency contact from my daughters’ school and replaced by my ex’s mother ??? If something bad happened to my daughter at school I wouldn’t know Her own father wouldn’t be warned If you wanted a perfect example of parental alienation here it is

In the caption, Darren added additional context to the complicated relationship with his ex-partner, saying:

« Since I left my marriage in August 2019, the memory of me in my daughter’s mind is fading My daughters are afraid to feel the love they once had for me They were forced to only feel hate I was sent hate texts, hate letters, I was told ‘Thank God you are no longer a part of these girls’ lives’, I was stuck on their phones, I left countless text and voicemail messages and get nothing in return

« I have so many examples of what is going on What I found out tonight shocked me I found out that I had been deleted as an emergency contact from my daughter’s school and replaced by my ex’s mom ??? If something bad happened to my daughter in school I wouldn’t know Her own father wouldn’t be notified If you wanted a perfect example of parental alienation here he is  »

While Darren’s ex-partner Deanne Jolly has yet to share anything herself on social media, she spoke to newspapers around the time of their split

« It is a very difficult time for me and my daughters, » Dea said in a statement to the Herald Sun

« We have been blinded and devastated by Darren’s action But I am focusing on my two daughters who are my number one priority Please respect our privacy as we move forward »

In February, Darren himself spoke candidly about his business problems and his marriage breakdown at the AFL Club Annual General Meeting in Collingwood

« Spending three weeks in a mental institution to deal with depression Leaving my 15-year marriage because I fell in love and wanted a happier life, » he said at the time. / p>

Darren also told his former teammates that his sanity had gotten so bad around this time that he « almost did something stupid and end [his] life »

Is it parental alienation if you are not even designated as an emergency contact for your own daughter at school? Is it parental alienation if you send birthday gifts and bake a birthday cake for your daughter who was denied to you and you don’t get any recognition? Is it parental alienation if you find out that your ex is planning for your children’s future and excluding you? Is it parental alienation if you communicate your legitimate reasons why you don’t approve of your daughters moving out of school just to receive a laughing emoji in return? #heartbroken

The first post Darren shared on Instagram (which now only has three posts in total), started the conversation about what he calls «  parental alienation  » and how it affects him personally
