Two children died while another was flown to the hospital and a fourth child and adult were rushed to the hospital by ambulance
Two children are dead and two others were injured along with an adult after scoring a hit near Dubbo in regional New South Wales.
The crash occurred on Warne Street in Wellington at around 4 a.m.. At 30 p.m. on Tuesday, authorities said five pedestrians had been hit by a car traveling at high speed.
Police in New South Wales said two children had been killed while another child was hospitalized in serious condition. A fourth child and an adult were also taken to the hospital.
« We were faced with an absolutely devastating scene in Wellington, » said Andrew DeGabriel, NSW Ambulance Supt, in a statement. « It’s heartbreaking that this should happen to such a small community. ”
« Officials are on site and are investigating the circumstances of the incident, » said a police spokesman.
Footage from the scene, broadcast by news outlets, suggested that a red car with P signs had left the street and crashed into a fence in front of a house.
