Here’s our first look at a great new documentary from Newcastle United that takes four years to make.
‘We are the Geordies’ – A movie for Newcastle United fans was released on December 11 and chronicles the championship promotion season under Rafa Benitez, after 11 fans watched the team at home and away.
The documentary features interviews with Benitez, Les Ferdinand, Alan Shearer, Malcolm MacDonald, John Gibson, and sports writer George Culkin – this first excerpt will whet the appetite..
Described as a season in Newcastle’s follow-up life, it’s a 91-minute rollercoaster ride after a unique club campaign.
Features fan shots as well as interviews and action and is a love letter to the club from their self-supporting film crew.
The film – by FNA Digital, with director and producer Zahra Zumorodian, writer and director James De Marco – will be shown on DVD and available through Video-on-Demand channels (think Amazon and more). You can pre-order a DVD here.
It was to be released in the cinema but these plans have been delayed due to the pandemic.
