The Bangladeshi national soccer team has the chance to end their 18-year trophy drought in the international arena when they face host Nepal in the final of the tri-nation tournament at the Dasharth Stadium in Kathmandu today.

That Game starts at 5:45 p.m. (Bangladesh standard time) and T Sports will broadcast the game live.

The last time Bangladesh won an international cup was the 2003 SAFF Championship in Dhaka, when they played the Maldives in the final 5-3 on penalties.

Coach Jamie Day doesn’t think too much about winning the trophy as he’s more focused on Bangladesh’s remaining games at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and AFC Asian qualification Cup concentrated in June.

“We will simply turn the players around again so that all players have the same playing time. I’ll still be looking at the players. The focus is not on the result here [final], but on preparing the players for June, « said Day.

» We’ve played twice without conceding … If we win the final great, but that The main focus is on giving the players playing time, « he added.

Interestingly, none of the participating teams – Bangladesh, Nepal and the Kyrgyz U23 – have scored a goal in the tournament.

The only goal was in of the league when the Kyrgyz U23 team conceded an own goal in their first game against Bangladesh on March 23, which was a goalless draw against Nepal on March 27 in the next game.

The Kyrgyz U23 team was eliminated from the race after a goalless draw in another league match against Nepal on March 25th.
