MELBOURNE – Barbora Krejcikova and Rajeev Ram won their second Australian Open mixed doubles title in three years with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Sam Stosur and Matthew Ebden.
For Krejcikova it was her third Australian Open title in a row, after teaming up with Nikola Mektic from Croatia a year ago to win the mixed doubles.
She had in the women’s final with her Czech colleague Katerina Siniakova on Friday lost to Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka, but left their disappointment behind in just 59 minutes at the Rod Laver Arena.
« We had a year off as a team, but she didn’t have a year off and she won this thing last year « , said Ram about Krejcikova at the award ceremony.
Ram has the chance to win another Australian Open title on Sunday when he and the Briton Joe Salisbury defend their men’s double title against Ivan Dodig and Filip Polasek.
