Evacuation orders have been issued to residents in western parts of Penrith as incessant rain threatens to cause the region’s worst flooding in decades.
The order is for all homes in the Nepean River boundaries south of the Great Western Highway and west of Peach Tree Creek.

The SES has responded to more than 7,370 calls and carried out 685 flood rescues since Thursday.
Melissa McIntosh tells residents on the Continuous Call Team to follow instructions from authorities – including not entering the flood. She also says more financial aid for flood-affected residents is on the way.
