The private island of Royal Caribbean in the Bahamas is so impressive that you must take a cruise that brings you to Perfect Day at CocoCay
There is a ton of things to do, including spending the day at the beach, pool, water park and more

Rides on the Ultimate Abyss are included in your cruise fare, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to scream down the slide, over and over again
On Oasis class ships, you can zip lines 9 bridges over the boardwalk on a path that measures 82 feet from start to finish

You can play on the green as often as you want, while enjoying beautiful views of the ocean around you No reservations required, just show up and grab a putter and a ball
Sometimes it’s enough to indulge yourself, and a treatment at Vitality Spa is the perfect madness
Massages, facials and even acupuncture are available for purchase and are a great way to take your relaxation to the next level
Spa treatments come at an additional cost, but it’s something you should try at least once
The AquaTheater is arguably one of the best entertainment venues on any Royal Caribbean ship, as it offers some of the best entertainment the cruise has developed
The AquaTheater features two 10-meter high platforms and the hydraulic bottom pool, the largest and deepest freshwater pool in the sea, below serves as a podium for high-rise aerial acrobatics. plunging and hair-raising that AquaTheater audiences love
Available on Oasis Class ships, there’s a different spectacle on every ship No matter which ship you sail on, it’s an experience unlike anything else at sea
Speaking of fantastic entertainment, Royal Caribbean has full Broadway shows on select cruise ships that cost absolutely nothing more to see!
Some Royal Caribbean ships have Tony Award winning shows that are exactly the show you would have seen on The Great White Way
Royal Caribbean has been pushing the boundaries for years when it comes to what a cruise ship can include and North Star is another example of “can they put this on a cruise ship?”
North Star is an observation pod attached to a giant arm above Quantum ships and Quantum Ultra Class North Star will allow passengers to soar into the sky above the cruise ship 300 feet above the sea
Perhaps no other activity on board put Royal Caribbean « on the map » as much as the climbing wall When Royal Caribbean introduced the first climbing wall, customer feedback has been so positive that climbing walls have been added to other ships in the fleet and have become a staple of any Royal Caribbean ship in the future
The climbing walls come in different sizes, but they all offer different trails that allow for different levels of experience It is usually open most of the day for children and adults to enjoy Royal Caribbean provides everything. safety gear you will need including helmets, harnesses and shoes Just bring a pair of socks
One of my favorite activities of the day at sea is playing trivia on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, and the feeling you get when you finally win a game is a tremendous thrill
There are usually a few different quizzes on offer each day of the cruise, and the topics range from general trivia to quizzes about music, sports, visuals or movies
In the Boardwalk neighborhood, patrons young and old alike can enjoy a ride on a classic carousel that is sure to put a smile on everyone’s lips The Carousel on Symphony of the Seas is handcrafted and specially designed by Carousel Works for Royal Caribbean and is one of a kind
Inspired by the turn-of-the-century carousels that were found in the Northeastern United States, the Symphony of the Seas carousel is a classic attraction that’s as beautiful in design as it is fun to drive
The Viking Crown Lounge is an iconic spot on any Royal Caribbean cruise ship, and you must enjoy at least one drink while taking in the views
Whether day or night, the view of the pool terrace and its surroundings is always worth taking the lift to see
Chef’s Table offers a private guided five-course epicurean experience with an enhanced menu and wine tasting to a limited number of guests
If you’ve always wanted to learn to surf, Mariner of the Seas has a Flowrider surf simulator in the back of the ship that you can try The FlowRider is a simulator that sends water at a very high speed over a small area that mimics what it’s like to surf the ocean
Guests can surf until they fall off the board, but the staff are good enough to challenge talented guests in an attempt to improve their skills and increase the likelihood of falling
Central Park is one of the prettiest and most impressive areas of an Oasis-class ship, and you must take the time to explore it
This is a huge area in the middle of the ship which offers a lush park for the guests with tropical plants, trees and walkways
Central Park is the perfect place to « get away from it all » and relax as the world goes by
There’s definitely something cool about a helm that moves between decks, and on Oasis-class ships the Rising Tide helm does just that
The Rising Tide bar continuously moves between the Royal Promenade and Central Park, offering great views while sipping your favorite cocktail
There is just something very cool about being in a bar moving in the air and with a drink in hand it’s a great place to watch all those people watching you
There is perhaps no more classic cruising experience than spending the day by the pool on a cruise ship
Royal Caribbean has designed its swimming pools to be fun, relaxing and above all refreshing experiences Whether you are there for the vibe, the cooling effect or the activities, spending time by the pool is a great idea
Besides splashing around and lazing around, you will find various events, such as the belly flop competition or the crew vs guest pool games
Visitors of all ages can enjoy the waterslides, and Royal Caribbean regularly adds waterslides to new and existing ships
Perfect Storm slides are included in your cruise fare and a great fun family activity When you slide down one of the slides, you’ll twist and transform three decks into a splashy finish
These movies are a combination of classics and novelties, and are free. You can choose to grab a chair or jump into the pool or hot tub to enjoy the movie
Culinary specialties are a great way to « add » your cruise, and my favorite is Izumi Hibachi
On ships that offer hibachi, you can have a fun experience for the whole family with authentic flavors, the freshest ingredients and impeccable presentation
If I’m on a Royal Caribbean ship with an escape room that I haven’t tried yet, then this becomes a must-do activity
Escape rooms challenge your brain and teamwork skills as you try to solve clues and escape before the time runs out
Whether you’re already a fan of the escape room trend or just want to try this challenge for the first time, I think you’ll enjoy the fun of trying to beat the escape room on some Royal ships Caribbean
While the Playmakers Sports Bar costs money to order food or drink, watching a game on one of their many TV screens is completely free
Sports fans will love seeing their favorite team play on match day from the comfort of a table at Playmakers Heck, you can play a round or two of Jenga or Connect Four between the rounds!
Royal Caribbean calls the Bamboo Room a « laid back Polynesian watering hole with a retro vibe and kitsch and cool craft cocktails »
Some of the most creative and unique drinks you’ll find on any Royal Caribbean cruise ship are available at the Bamboo Room, so well worth it
One of the best not-so-well-known entertainment options Royal Caribbean has recently added is the « stowaway » pianist
The idea is that there is a pianist with a distant piano who will move around the ship and perform for the guests, but encouraging the guests not to report it
The piano is not an ordinary piano It has hidden compartments and functions and can dispense various things, such as lollipops for children or seem to overheat from « intense » piano playing
Some customers may be quick to bundle all of Royal Caribbean’s specialty restaurants together to offer similar experiences, but there is one restaurant that breaks the mold
Wonderland was introduced on Royal Caribbean’s Quantum Class ships and quickly became a favorite for its whimsical and over-the-top experience it offers alongside some really good food
For customers who want to try something a little different and bring a little « show » to their meals, Wonderland is a great choice and it promises to be a dining experience you’ll be talking about for a while
For adults only, plan to watch the Crazy Quest on your cruise Assuming you have a good sense of humor, the Crazy Quest is an adult scavenger hunt that involves guests going to great lengths to overcome a number of physical challenges
After seeing the Quest a few times, it’s safe to say that no two Crazy Quest shows are the same and it’s impossible to say exactly what you’ll witness It’s wild, intense, and offers great late night entertainment
I would bet that the Schooner Bar is a staple of any Royal Caribbean experience because there is always something going on here
Whether you pronounce it « shooner » or « skooner » we can all agree that the Schooner Bar is home to fun anecdotes, live music and great people
On sea days, Royal Caribbean opens the Main Dining Room for lunch and offers a combination of sit-down waiter service with a fantastic salad bar
The lunch menu changes daily that it’s open, so keep an eye out for it for a great alternative to the lunch buffet
If your cruise is visiting Perfect Day at CocoCay or Labadee, my favorite craze is to rent a cabin
Sushi making, cupcake decorating, or guacamole making classes are great fun and taste great too!
Being in the ocean, catching a sunset is a magnificent event that should be done on every cruise, but certainly at least once
The spectacle of the sunset is astonishing, with the many colors of the sky and the reflections in the ocean Be sure to bring a camera to try to capture the splendor of it all
Royal Caribbean has some really fun shows on board its ships, and one of my favorite shows has to be the Love and Marriage game show
Most Royal Caribbean cruise directors I’ve heard of the show, describe it as similar to The Newlywed Game TV show
Inspired by « The Newly Wed game », Royal Caribbean’s version involves three couples trying to prove they know their spouse best. It’s a quiz about memory and how a spouse thinks they know the other
What makes the show fun is when one of the spouses is very wrong or a spouse reveals something embarrassing about themselves The cruise director certainly plays a role in encouraging couples to be honest and making fun of answers
The only thing better than spending time in the adults only pool is to take a nap there!
The sundeck is one of the most relaxing places on the cruise ship, and it tends to be a bit (if not completely) closed Plus, it has cushioned lounge chairs that are just perfect for a nap. afternoon
Anyone can swim during the day but on a Royal Caribbean cruise but I like to put on my swimsuit late after sunset and jump in the pool
Night swims are a great experience and with the new giant movie screens by the pools on most Royal Caribbean ships it’s fun to watch a classic movie while in the water It’s a great activity family friendly and the perfect way to end a fun day
Almost every night the UK pub plays host to a talented singer who performs the kind of bar songs we’ve all grown to enjoy over the years
Pubs are available on most ships (Radiance class and up), and I love the type of music played Pub tunes range from the old, ’90s and decades in between Basically, they are songs you probably know every word of and have probably heard in many bars before
Cruise ships that have an ice rink in Studio B allow guests to put on a pair of ice skates and hit the rink while they cruise
Check the Cruise Compass for open skate sessions while you sail Royal Caribbean will provide you with free rental of ice skates and safety gear Just be sure to pack long pants and socks
Did you know there is a self-serve ice cream station by the pool with unlimited soft ice cream? Take a cone as you wish, as you will most likely have several on your cruise
You’ll find loads of deck parties on Royal Caribbean cruise ships From the 70’s Dancing in the Street Party at the Hush! Silent Party, at sailing parties there are plenty of opportunities to dance the night away
As the name suggests, it’s a contest of will, determination and iron courage You might cringe, laugh, or clap, but it’s the kind of show everyone needs see once
Do you have children? If so, expect them to want to spend a lot of time at Splashaway Bay Water Adventure Park
Splashway Bay has lots of splashing, with fountains, buckets, sprays, and even slides for the kids to enjoy at their leisure Splashaway Bay was built to be a focal point of the pool and provide a another improvement over what the cruise line was known for in the past
Like all the fun of the pool deck, Splashaway Bay is free and is sure to be a very popular spot with your kids
On Oasis Class ships, Johnny Rockets is open for breakfast and is included in your cruise fare During breakfast you will find classic American fare (like other meals) including pancakes , breakfast sandwiches, eggs, French toast and more
Besides the price, Johnny Rockets is often a less crowded breakfast spot, so if you need a breakfast break in the Windjammer, head to the boardwalk and start your morning there- bottom
Taking a cruise is such a relaxing and wonderful way to enjoy a vacation, and no matter which ship you are on, take a stroll on the outside promenade deck at least once to take in the view of the wake of the ship from the aft of the ship
This view is quite beautiful and calming, and you might be spending more time here than you think Since most of the guests don’t make it here, this is one of the most secluded places in ‘a Royal Caribbean ship
On Oasis Class ships, Royal Caribbean has even added chairs for guests to enjoy and watch the wake as their ship heads to the next adventure
In case you didn’t know, snails are cooked snails and they are a delight and available every night in the main dining room. And yes, most people probably make a face when they read for the first time on this, but it’s become a cruise classic and you should give it a whirl at least once
Most snail fans will tell you that it’s not as bad as you might think, and the fact that they’re cooked in a lot of garlic and butter means you can barely taste them. – it with bread and you might not even recognize the ancient terrestrial pulmonary gastropod molluscs
If you’ve booked a room with a balcony, be sure to muster the strength to wake up one morning and watch the sunrise from the comfort of your balcony
Your Royal Caribbean cruise begins in earnest when the mustering exercise is over and the ship drops its lines and leaves the port for the first stop To celebrate this moment, Royal Caribbean has a sailing party on board by the pool and invite all guests to join
Sailing party involves dancing, music and drinks and is worth trying at least once
Royal Caribbean offers a full access tour for guests, where they can peek behind the proverbial curtain and see how their huge and impressive cruise ships operate
Guests are escorted through a number of critical areas of the ship including the galley, deck, and engine room This is a fun way to get an overview of what it takes to keep a working vessel, and even get answers to those nagging questions you’ve always asked yourself
The All Access tour is available for purchase through the cruise planner before the cruise
On cruise ships that have a location at the Park Cafe, be sure to stop by and try their Kummelweck Roast Beef Sandwich
These sandwiches are simply amazing and no trip to Central Park is complete without one of these tasty (and free) snacks
Picture this: the sun is shining, with a cloud or two passing as the warm Caribbean breeze brushes your cheek You have a colorful cocktail in hand, as the band play « Red Red Wine » close your eyes This embodies the perfect moment of a Royal Caribbean cruise!
Live music on a Royal Caribbean cruise is one of the best hidden secrets Royal Caribbean’s dedication to live music has become something I always look forward to and enjoying the live band by the pool is just what the icing on an incredible cake
Finally, you should try to book a cruise for an important vacation, like July 4th, New Years Eve, or Thanksgiving
Celebrating a cruise vacation is a great way to not only have fun, but also change what you usually do to celebrate
Royal Caribbean gets into the great vacation spirit and you won’t be disappointed that you’re on a cruise ship
The three best vacations to try on a cruise at least once are Halloween, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve Everyone is great fun on board!
