World News – CA – Company Creates 500 Jobs in Mississauga

On October 16, provincial and municipal officials appeared alongside Ronnie Miller, President and CEO of Roche Pharmaceuticals Canada, to announce a new investment that is expected to create approximately 500 new jobs in Mississauga on a period of three years

At the press conference, Miller announced that Roche plans to invest $ 500 million over five years to establish a Global Pharma Technical Operations site to oversee its global supply chain in Mississauga

The investment is expected to create 500 jobs – 200 by the end of 2020 and up to 300 more by the end of 2023

« This investment is further proof that Ontario has the best environment for jobs and opportunities, and that we are leaders in creating life-saving drugs, treatments and medical equipment, » said Ford said in a statement

“Roche’s new operations center in Mississauga will strengthen Ontario’s position as a titan in the life sciences, creating well-paying jobs in the community and ensuring the best minds and Brightest in Ontario advance the important work Roche is doing to transform health care here in our province and beyond «

According to the province, Roche is the world’s largest biotechnology company and a world leader in oncology, immunology, infectious diseases, ophthalmology and central nervous system diseases
