World News – CA – Envy CEO criticizes Forbes esports reviews as « total rubbish » – Dexerto

. . Adam Rymer, CEO of Envy Gaming, classified Forbes' esports reviews as "utter garbage" and explained his comments on LinkedIn.

. .

Adam Rymer, chief executive officer of Envy Gaming, dismissed Forbes’ recent esports company reviews after naming TSM, Cloud9 and Team Liquid as the most valuable organizations in the world.

On 5. December Forbes published its list of the ten most valuable esports organizations in the world and gave an overall value for each of the ten organizations listed.

At the top of the list was Team SoloMid, valued at a staggering $ 410 million. Cloud9 and Team Liquid took the silver and bronze places, with FaZe Clan, NRG and 100 Thieves also making the list.

As is customary with Forbes’ reviews, industry insiders have criticized the list, no more than Adam Rymer, CEO of Envy Gaming.

Rymer took over the management of Envy in the summer of 2020 and took over the business of government from Mike Rufail. Envy Gaming is the parent company of Team Envy, the Dallas Empire of the CDL and Dallas Fuel of the Overwatch League.

On his LinkedIn, Rymer said, “This Forbes analysis is utter rubbish. This is not a criticism of the included / mentioned organizations that all deserve to be there. I have friends at all and have a lot of respect for what they are doing down the line, but in full transparency this is a full, fleeting « drive-by » analysis that has led me to question all rating / editing skills to be asked by Forbes. ”

Rymer went on to explain that since Forbes’ last rating (which ranked Envy 8th), Envy has expanded massively, adding Post Malone to its ownership group, and winning its first CDL championships. Even so, they missed a top 10 spot. Rymer says, “At no point were we asked to provide data. ”

« None of this appeared to be relevant to this study to even be mentioned, » concluded Rymer. « Based on the companies mentioned, you’d think it would just be based on which organizations offer them the greatest item reach (which, to be fair, certainly adds value). . In my honest opinion, this list has become a disservice to the entire industry. ”

Rymer’s criticism is pretty damning, and there are certainly some questions about why Envy Gaming was off the list.
