MILAN (Reuters) – Mike Manley, Fiat Chrysler CEO, is in pole position to take the top job at Ferrari, Italian daily Il, Messaggero said in an unresolved report on Saturday.

Louis Camilleri retired as CEO of Ferrari for personal reasons late Thursday, with immediate effect after serving nearly two and a half years in the role.

According to Il Messaggero, a board meeting at Ferrari could name a new CEO next week.

Fiat Chrysler is expected to merge with the French automobile manufacturer PSA Group at the end of the first quarter of next year. The top job at the new Stellantis Group will be taken over by PSA CEO Carlos Tavares.
