A popular brand of baby spinach called Fresh Attitude has been recalled in Quebec due to possible salmonella contamination.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency published on Jan.. November posted a notice warning the public not to throw this product away or return it to the store where it was purchased.
The affected products are 312-gram and 142-gram containers with a best-before date of 4. or 5. December.
According to the government website, « Salmonella-contaminated food may not look or smell bad, but it can still make you sick. «
It is said that young children, pregnant women, and the elderly with compromised immune systems can get serious infections from salmonella.
Healthy people could have short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea.
