Two of President Trump’s campaign staff defended his encouragement to « lock up » chants against Michigan government Gretchen Whitmer at a Saturday night rally in her state
On CNN’s « State of the Union », Lara Trump, wife of presidential son Eric Trump and a senior advisor to the Trump campaign, argued that the « lock up » chants used against Whitmer were not meant to cause harm to the Democratic governor who, less than two weeks ago, was targeted in a foiled kidnapping plot by the FBI

Jason Miller, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign, made an appearance on « Fox News Sunday, » where he said the president does not regret his rhetoric against Whitmer
