The Atlanta Braves have reached a $ 15 million one-year deal with the free agent who starts pitcher Charlie Morton, the club announced on Tuesday morning. 37-year-old Morton has spent the last two seasons with the Rays and was an All-Star in 2019. Morton is the grizzly veteran who finished third in the 2019 vote with AL Cy Young.
This comes full circle for Morton. He was drafted in the third round by the Braves after graduating from high school in 2002 and made his MLB debut with the Braves in 2008. The Braves exchanged him for the pirates in the « Nate McLouth » deal at the time.
