World News – CA – Mysak has been added to the list of selection camps in the Czech Republic for World Juniors

Jan Mysak is one of five players selected in the 2020 NHL draft who will participate in a selection camp with the Czech Republic for the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Mysak, selected in the second round (No.. 48) from the Montreal Canadiens, is invited among 42 players. The 18-year-old forward scored 25 points (15 goals, 10 assists) in 22 games for Hamilton of the Ontario Hockey League last season. He joined Hamilton after scoring two points (one goal, one assist) for the Czech Republic at the 2020 WJC.

Other 2020 draft picks present are striker Jaromir Pytlik (No.. 99, New Jersey Devils), Pavel Novak (no. 146, Minnesota Wild) and Adam Raska (No.. 201, San Jose Sharks); Defender Michael Krutil (No.. 110, Chicago Blackhawks); and goalkeeper Jan Bednar (No.. 107, Detroit Red Wings).

Mysak and Pytlik are two of nine players in the Czech team that finished seventh at the WJC 2020. Among them is Blackhawk’s striker Michal Teply, a tip for the fourth round (No.. 105) in the 2019 NHL Draft, which led the Czech Republic with five assists in five games.

Defender Stanislav Svozil, who plays for Brno in the Czech Extra League, the highest professional league in the Czech Republic, is also invited. He received a B rating from NHL Central Scouting for his players to see the list for the 2021 NHL draft.

The 2021 WJC is set to be played in December. 25-Jan. 5 at Rogers Place, Edmonton, with no fans in the building and a safe zone similar to what the NHL used for the Stanley Cup playoffs. The teams are expected to arrive in Edmonton in December. 13th.

The Czech Republic will play in Group B in the preliminary round, starting against Sweden in December. 26 followed by games against Russia (Dec.. . 27), the United States (Dec.. . 29) and Austria (Dec. . 31). Group A consists of Canada, Finland, Switzerland, Slovakia and Germany.
