World News – CA – Non-core Hockey Canada employees test positive for COVID-19

Scott Salmond, Senior Vice President of National Teams for Hockey Canada, said the team learned of the positive test on Saturday morning.

The person and their close contacts were quarantined at the team’s hotel in Red Deer, Alta.

Hockey Canada is in the middle of its selection camp in Calgary ahead of the IIHF Junior Ice Hockey World Championship 2021 in Edmonton next month.

Team Canada is aiming for its second gold medal in a row at the tournament. This would be the 19th. Title of all time.
