Former Zamalek defender Islam Gamal has signed a two-year loan deal for Egyptian Premier League club Tala’a El-Gaish.
Gamal came to Zamalek from Tala’a El-Gaish in 2014. After a very successful first season with the Whites, in which he helped them win the title in the Egyptian Premier League, he saw his playing time gradually decrease.
He was therefore given several loans across the country doing his trade for Ismaily SC, Petrojet and even Tala’a El-Gaish before getting a permanent move to Ittihad, Alexandria in July 2019.
During his only season with the giants of Alexandria, Gamal played 28 games in all competitions, finishing tenth in the table, while making a significant contribution to reaching the semi-finals of the Egypt Cup.
However, it appears that the 31-year-old has caught the attention of Tala’a El-Gaish head coach Tarek El-Ashry, who signed the center-back on a two-year loan deal.
El-Gaish is currently preparing for the clash of the Egypt Cup against Zamalek. If they manage to beat the giants of Cairo, Gamal could face his old teammates in Ittihad in the final, who will face Al Ahly in the other semi-final.
Gamal will be El-Gaish’s ninth signing of that transfer window, with army side Islam Mohareb from El-Gouna and former Al Ahly right-backs Hussein El-Sayed and Amr Marei from Pyramids adding to name a few.
