An OPP officer was seriously injured after an incident in the town of Kawartha Lakes Thursday morning.

In a tweet, OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique reported that an officer had been injured east of Lindsay, Ont. and a suspect is in custody.

The Kawartha Lakes Police Department in Lindsay has closed Pigeon Lake Road between Heights Road and Settlers Road for investigation. The area is just a few kilometers east of Lindsay.

Global News has contacted the OPP Central Region and the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) for further details. An Ornge Air Ambulance source says the area is too foggy to fly.
