CALGARY (660 NEWS) – After decades of discussion and construction, a Calgary project has finally reached a milestone
A 15 kilometer section of the southwestern part of the city of the ring road, known as the Tsuut’ina Trail, will be open to traffic on Thursday
Premier Jason Kenney will join Mayor Naheed Nenshi, Transport Minister Ric McIver and Tsuut’ina First Nation Chief Roy Whitney to officially open the section from Sarcee Trail to Fish Creek Boulevard SW
The remaining part of the project leading to Highway 22X is expected to be completed by 2021
Last month, the Tsuut’ina First Nation celebrated the opening of a Costco which paved the way for further construction of the bypass project
Store opened on 130 Ave SW as part of “Shops at Buffalo Run” development
Discussions about building the secondary road around the causeway began in the 1970s, and the province eventually purchased the land from the Tsuut’ina First Nation in 2013 for $ 350 million and included a land swap
