HARRISON, NJ – The Montreal Impact scored an important victory as they kept their hopes for a place in the playoffs
Bojan Krkic scored and assisted on Maximiliano Urruti’s final goal in the Montreal Impact’s 2-1 win over Inter Miami on Saturday night at Red Bull Arena
Urruti hit an instant shot into an empty net to give Montreal (7-10-2) the advantage in the 80th minute Romell Quioto played a through ball which led a charging Krkic down the right side of the area, where launched a short pass to Urruti for the finish at close range
« It was important for the team, » said Krkic « We needed this victory We have a good team and good players I know what I can do and I feel confident with my team and the staff I like being in the field and playing football «
Krkic opened the scoring in the sixth minute, sliding a right foot 30 meters inside the post
Brek Shea launched a shot from the left corner of the box that deflected defender Zachary Brault-Guillard then goalkeeper James Pantemis before finding the net to bring the score to 1-1 in the 33rd
The Impact now occupies eighth place in the Major League Soccer standings The top 10 teams in the Eastern Conference will qualify for the playoffs alongside the eight playoff clubs in the Western Conference Montreal started the game outside of ‘a playoff position and was without defenders Rod Fanni and Luis Binks
