TORONTO –
A woman and five-year-old boy were rushed to hospital after being pulled by a two-alarm house fire and possible explosion in Brampton on Tuesday evening.

The crews were around 19. Called 48pm to Nevada Court near Bovaird Drive East and Nasmith Street. m.

Brampton Fire Chief Bill Boyes said crews had arrived to find two people trapped in the basement of the house.

« They were quickly able to do the rescue in very difficult conditions, get people out, give them to our paramedic partners who did an amazing job, and then transport them to the hospital, » Brampton Fire Chief Bill Boyes told CP24 at the crime scene.

Originally, three patients were taken to a local hospital, according to Peel Regional Paramedic Services. However, it was later clarified that two people were being transported – a woman with serious injuries and a five-year-old boy with serious injuries. The two should be mother and son, said firefighters.

Police later said both the woman and the boy were in stable condition.

Although there were reports of a possible explosion, the firefighters did not immediately confirm it. The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office is expected to be on site to investigate.

« The crews did a really good job, as you can see tonight in difficult weather conditions, fighting the fire inside and outside of these challenging conditions, » he said.
