The district currently has 210 active cases of COVID-19, nearly double the 107 Waterloo Public Health reported this Halloween
On Monday, Waterloo Public Health reported 40 more positive tests for coronavirus in the region, bringing the total number of cases to 2,392.
This is the second time in four days that the agency has reported more than 40 cases after it has not done so since May.
42 new cases were announced on Friday, and by the end of the week 57 more cases were reported
At the other end of the ledger, 55 people have been cleared of the virus over the past four days, including 22 feet on Monday bringing the total number of cases resolved to 2,061.
An outbreak was reported at Algarve’s restaurant in Kitchener on Monday as six people tested positive, and another in an office linked to four more positive tests
Outbreaks were also announced over the weekend at an industrial workplace where eight people tested positive for coronavirus and in Winston Park Village in Kitchener after an employee tested positive

There are six other active outbreaks in the area, including three in nursing homes, one in kindergarten, one involving a before and after care program, and one in Kitchener’s school
Ontario reported 1,242 new cases of coronavirus on Monday, the second-highest increase in a single day, bringing the total number of virus cases in the province to 85,395.
Ontario Minister of Health Christine Elliott said 483 new cases have been registered in Toronto, 279 in the Bell area, 107 in York area, 74 in Ottawa and 57 in Hamilton
The death toll in the governorate has risen to 3,245, with 12 more deaths reported.
