LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – The Chargers’ future looks bright, and a lot of it can be attributed to the phenomenal play of quarterback Justin Herbert, who was named NFL Rookie of the Year Thursday.

Herbert, 22, had the most touchdown passes last season (Dec. ) and 396 (396) by a rookie in NFL history.
Herbert was number 6 from the University of Oregon in last year’s draft and was second in NFL history for a staggering 4,336 yards .
The other four finalists for the award were Indianapolis Colts with Jonathan Taylor, Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, James Robinson with Jacksonville Jaguars, and Chase Young with the Washington defensive end.
