More than 70 firefighters spent the night lighting a fire in two neighboring factories in southeast Melbourne.
Exterior walls collapsed and windows exploded during the violent fire that the crews had to attack from above. </ "The heat was quite high and that enabled our firefighters to determine that it was definitely not safe to go into the building," said Trudy Walker of Fire Rescue Victoria.
Residents of Bentleigh East, Cheltenham, Clarinda, Heatherton, Highett, Moorabbin, Moorabbin East and Oakleigh South have been warned that smoke will be visible from nearby streets and houses.
