The Chinese State Department on Tuesday condemned the US Navy’s recent exercises in the South China Sea and pledged to continue taking the necessary measures to maintain peace and stability in the region.
Wang Wenbin, a ministry spokesman , told the media that the US has frequently dispatched carriers to the South China Sea, which is adversely affecting peace and stability in the region.
Wang made the remarks after media reports that two US carrier groups were on Held joint exercises in the South China Sea Tuesday.
