RIYU Li, the Chinese billionaire who initiated the three-tower glamor Jewel Beachfront project, aims to be a $ 50 million record-breaker on the Gold Coast.
This is the figure he hunts for his ‘stately’ Bellagio La Villa mansion in the Tallebudgera Valley.
The 49 hectare property, which has been Mr. Li’s home since 2014, was compared to a large European property.
He had planned a large wellness and gardening project on the property with a hotel and 108 residential units, but the project was rejected by the city council last year.
« He’s excited for someone to come in and enjoy his amazing property and maybe take advantage of his redevelopment potential, » said Amir Prestige’s Amir Mian yesterday.
The record for a home on the Gold Coast is $ 25 million and includes two homes on Mermaid Beach – one was built in 2016 by Billabong float architect Scott Perrin and the other last year by BreakFree vacation group founder Tony Smith and sold to his wife Simone.
Mr Mian, who markets the Li house with colleague Justin Haines, said his jaw dropped the first time he drove up the long drive at Bellagio La Villa.
« I couldn’t believe there was such a palatial yet sophisticated house on the Gold Coast.
« It looked like a beautiful building considered to be the centerpiece of lush green country estates in Europe and the UK.
« I was full of admiration for those who built it and for the improvements that followed under Li ownership. »
Mr. Li bought the Bellagio holding and adjacent two title property in 2014 for $ 7.2 million from Coral Homes founders Paul and Vicki Sweeney after their marriage breakup.
Bellagio La Villa reportedly cost more than $ 8 million and was built on land that cost $ 7 million in 2006.
Mr. Li is one of the largest real estate developers in the Chinese province of Guangdong through the Ridong Group and has been active in Australia since 2000, initially in Sydney.
• Ten bedrooms, all ensuite, including a master bedroom with his and hers dressing rooms and separate bathrooms.
• A five-car garage fitted to a standard allowing it to be used as a ballroom.
• 49 acres with a front to Tallebudgera Creek and close to Tally Valley Golf Course and Schools.
