‘Chucky’ is about to wreak havoc on TV screens as Don Mancini revealed that the show is finally in production

The red-haired, freckled-faced doll owned by the evil spirit of serial killer Charles Lee Ray is ready to wreak havoc again. Fans of Chucky, the evil doll, will soon be able to see the doll do what it does best – kill. Syfy brings out a series based on the evil doll that constantly tries to transfer his soul from the doll to a human body. In the series titled « Chucky », the doll will appear on a local sale. However, an idyllic American city falls into chaos when a series of horrific murders fully unearths the city’s secrets. The show will also tell viewers about the origins of Charles and how he was one of the most notorious serial killers of all time.

The Child’s Play film franchise is hugely popular with those who love slasher movies. The original film « Kinderspiel » produced six sequels, a remake, comics and a video game. Most of the films in the series did well at the box office and made big bucks. The series created its own fan base ready to sign up for any project with the killer doll.
There is no official release date for the upcoming TV show. However, it is confirmed that the show will arrive on Syfy this fall. The show’s creator Don Mancini recently shared a clip on his official Twitter handle saying the series is officially in production.
According to the official recap, fans can expect this from the upcoming show : “After an old Chucky doll shows up on a local sale, an idyllic American city is thrown into chaos when a series of horrific murders uncovers the city’s hypocrisy and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to uncover the truth behind the murders, as well as the inexplicable origins of the demon doll as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this infamous monster. “
The airtime for the show has not yet been announced. We will update this section as soon as the full schedule is available.
Viewers would need to download the Syfy app to watch the series. You can subscribe to Syfy directly via a mobile app store (Google Play, App Store). Syfy programs can also be viewed on other platforms such as iTunes, Hulu and Amazon Prime.
In the series, Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilly will pronounce the characters of Chucky and Tiffany. Both actors are no stranger to the series having worked together since « Bride of Chucky » in 1998.
The show will also feature four teenage lead actors, those of Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, and Alyvia Alyn Lind and Björgvin Arnarson are played. The series will also see Devon Sawa in a key role.
The first episode of the series will be directed by Don Mancini. He’s now also writing the entire series. He previously made three films from the Child’s Play franchise and was the author of all films that were part of the original series.
Mancini, David Kirschner, Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund and Harley Peyton will appear as executive producers on the show .
The official trailer for the series has not yet been released. But Mancini shared a little teaser on social media and gave some information about the first episode. The title of the first episode is « Death by Misadventure ».
